Daughter has money in a "blocked account" due to a settlement..?

the proceeds were placed there until she is eighteen. She needs various things that I can't pay for on a low income. What items will the court approve for her? I have to file a petition if she wants to spend any of the money. Our attorney said things for health, welfare and education. Thanks for any insight.

And as for you "Blue" I am not destitute, I probably worked more this week than you have in your life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can estimate how much each month you need for her expenses:

Clothing including shoes
School books - etc.
School tutoring - or special help if needed.
computer - or computer supplies
trips or other items - for school including any sports equipment
Medical appointments
A nominal amount for - her rent, her food bill - again an estimate of say $25 per week - which is just for her food, part utilities, transportation to get her to and from school,
Gifts - she deserves a nice Winter (Christmas) present,
Vacation - a small amount could be used to go & see her relatives (if possible Grandmother etc.).

Children are expensive, and you deserve to help her now,
and of course it's great that there will be money available when she goes to technical school or college at 18, but
she deserves to be helped now.

GOD bless us always.

(I worked my way through high school, college and graduate school - so I believe you are doing an excellent job by getting her the help now), so she doesn't have to work as hard as I did.

Not much. Tons of people are struggling. They will tell you you shouldve considered your finances before having children. Id leave it alone. If you are so destitute she will need that money for college.

And this question is why the account is blocked.
