What are the consequences for a 3rd DUI in California? |
A co-worker of mine has already had 2 DUI's in the past two years. She's stupid and continues to drive drunk. What will happen to her if she gets another one? I hope they crush and melt her car and put her in prison for a long time. Depends which county you live in. Tell your friend to get a lawyer. He's looking at county jail for at least 120 days and a fine of at least $390. As a bonus, he gets his license revoked. See vehicle code 23546. Probably won't have a driver's license for a few years. And if she does the car insurance will cost more than her car. In some states it's 3 strikes and you're out. Here in Michigan I know a 3rd offender that went to jail for 6 mo. a bunch of fines and no license for at least 5 years. What would Darby do? 3rd strike law....llife in prison! life |
