Drunk drivers who KILL, and drive drunk AGAIN...?

So here's a story out of Minneapolis, MN-- my hometown. A man who drove drunk and killed a popular MN Timberwolves basketball player back in 2000, was recently arrested AGAIN for driving drunk. Turns out he only served three years (just three!) for killing Malik Sealy. Also turns out he was arrested AGAIN in 2006, for-- you guessed it-- driving drunk. And now, in 2008, another arrest.

HOW can the judge in the Sealy case feel good about letting this MURDERER out after only three years?! Does anyone else think this is just wrong?? We need to have more serious sentences for people like this. And deportation, in this guy's case.

I've seen it here where I live as well. A guy was driving home drunk and hit a car with 4 teens in it, killing the driver. He must have been out on bail and he was pulled over AGAIN for drunk driving! What a s*** bag! If I was the judge he'd be in jail for life because he obviously doesn't care about his actions towards others.

Honestly. He should have never got his license back.
Otherwise they should've known he's going to do it repeatedly cause he was let out.For a murder especially.

Drunk Drivers will never learn. people who drive drunk should never be able to get their license back

That's really sad and yes, you'd think you would learn. You'd think a d.u.i. would be enough to stop you let alone killing someone. I have a very dear friend who was in a car accident and killed someone. He wasn't even drunk and got 15 years to life. He's already served 12 years in prison. Sometimes it just feels like there's no justice.

Jail time teaches nothing. Jail time offers no rehab either. What the guy needs is counseling to address why he drinks and serious rehab to deal with the addiction to drink he has. I am not a advocate for jail time. For killing someone like he did-his license should be taken away for life, he should have been court ordered to be put on medicne that prevents him from drinking and the court should have ordered him to face the family he devestated and hear them out. Then the court should have put him on strict probation and then if he went out and did it again-then put him behind bars til he decided to face his addictions and mental issues head on.

thats horrible, the laws really need to change
