Dominican Divorce question?

Has anyone from the states ever gone to the Dominican Republic for a divorce and if so, what was your experience like? I am considering this.

1. You need the written consent of the other party.
2. All it gets you is a divorce. It does not resolve any property, support or child custody issues; although you can resolve those yourselves by agreement, as long as you both voluntarily comply with the agreement.
3. Unless you are in a state that requires un-attainable grounds for a divorce, want to keep all the court files confidential or want a Dominican holiday there is no particular advantage in going to Santo Domingo for a divorce.
