Research for book, irish woman marries american man, they divorce, can she remain in america? |
I'd appreciate any information at all on which visa an irish woman would need to work in America for a period of 12 months. If she then married an American citizen would she herself become one? would she be allowed to remain in the country indefinitely? If she divorced him would she still be entitled to continue living in America? Thanks, every little helps. Try to Google that. Look for INS or ICE or what ever they call themselves now. Look in your phone book, in the Federal Government section. This varies based on when she married, when she divorced and most of all where she immigrated from. I don't know the rules for Ireland. A good international divorce attorney can easily answer these questions with a quarter or half hour of his billable time. |
