Sexual discrimination???????

some one i am very close with was hired as a sales manager of a company .he overheard the other sales manager that he worked with was sleeping with one of the sales staff. My friend then told his partner manager that he was offended by this and that not only bieng married but it was not the right thing to do.
he claimed it is consential sex....well when he told his owner about the affair,he was let go from his manager position and put on the sales floor at alot less pay.....the owner felt he was stirring it up,,,,,,is this ethical in the buissines world??

He should have kept his mouth shut. Here how it seems from your statement:

He joined this company, over heard some other guy bragging about how he slept with a subordinate. He cannot prove the other guy did sleep with anyone. He confronted the guy who basically told him to mind his own business. Then he squealed to hos boss, who demoted him.

Your friend is in a hugely bad position. If he can find a great (and I mean great) lawyer who specializes in this thing, who will help him build the case over a long time of careful documentation of the environment of sexual hostility, then he might have a prayer.

Unfotunately it will be easier for him to go find another job. Too bad because we need brave folks to stand up against this crap. At worst that woman may have been forced into the sex. At least, one might demonstrate she is getting preferntial terat ment for sleeping with one of the managers.

Glad I could help. Sorry about the typos;-) Report It

It was gossip, yes he can be demoted, how in the hell is this sexual harassment. Keep your nose out of other peeps business.

This is by no means ethical but if they have "no retaliation" policy than he can contact his Human Resource department and file a grievance.
