Can i receive SSI for my infant daughter? |
My child's father is receiving SSI due to his disability. His two children from a previous relationship are also receiving checks as they are under 18. Is my daughter eligible for payments due to the fact she was born after he qualified. Also will the money be deducted from his SSI payments? And if not how do I go about this? thanks. She should qualify for SSI due to her father's disability until she turns 18. Contact your local Social Security Administration and fill out the proper forms and get this started as soon as possible. All you need is his name and SS#. They may demand a paternity test, but that is the least of your worries if he is the father. Being able to raise a child on what the government gives you is your biggest problem. Does the father receive SSI or SSDI? They are both government payments for the disabled, but there is a difference. SSI is welfare, for those who did not work long enough to get benefits on their own record, and who are disabled. Since SSI is welfare, there is no additional payment for children, although the children of those on SSI may get foodstamps, section 8 housing, and other help from the state due to poverty. SSI only allows a certain amount of household assets, since those who have assets shouldn't qualify for welfare. All of you are so rude making fun of people that cant work. So what its your money. Its mine now so now what? I dont know why people are so rude. What if that was you? What if you were disabled? What if you couldnt work? SSI checks are only $500.00 to $600.00 a month. How would you live? Its not enough of "your money" To help people in need. I have SSI and its not much for me and a child. I hope all of you read this a see how mean you all are. Now for as the question i dont think you can get SSI on your child i cant get it for mine unless something was wrong with him. You can get child support from the state if the father can not work. You will have to go to your local government offices and ask them about. Im sorry people are so rude. http://www.ssa.gov/ Is is SSI or SS disablity he draws? If he is getting disablity it will not change the amount he draws, but you can file and get a check for your daughter. SSI is a different story, you can't file on that http://ssa-custhelp.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/ssa.... So your baby daddy (I notice you didn't say husband) is too disabled to work but not too disabled to father more children for my tax money t support. Go ahead, belly right up to the bar and let the Nanny Government support you. I'll have to get off of the computer shortly; I have to go to work - wouldn't want your check to be late! first,if he has a disability and needs the money why are u tryin to get his money? i mean i know he is the father of the child but it takes two to tango and you really need to think about what your doing here and secondly, thats what is wrong with the economy! people like you tryin to get a free ride off of the fact that u had a child The kids get it too!!!!!!!! WOW. I am going to apply right away. My neighbor gets SSI and he can do more than I can. He does yard work, builds fences, all kinds of things. I can't do those kinds of things, so gee, maybe I qualify too. (SARCASM) You'd have to check with your local office, but if she is his daughter, I would think she'd be eligible. And I don't think it would come out of his money. Contact his case worker tomorrow, the case worker is PAID to know this. Are you married to him? If yes, call SSI and ask them. If not, he should be paying you child support, one way or another! |
