Employment,while on disability?

what is the limited amount that you can earn while collecting ssdisability ?
Do you contact Social Security first, before working?

ive checked into this and in my case its $800 a month but i think it might be based on the individual and yes, i'd contact them and ask them the question you asked here..they are better suited to tell you and explain how it works, b/c if you go over the limit, your check will be reduced by that amount

It depends on the nature of your disability but usually it's around 40% - and you must report every penny your earn as that amount will be deducted from the benefits you're paid. You absolutely must notify them if you have a new job.
