When you are released from long term disability to return to work what obligations does your company have?


My company still has me listed as an employee and I just got released from long term disability. What is there obligation to me if any? Due to Hippa and Disability laws I want to know what I can expect. I have been in contact with them and they are trying to figure out what to do with me.

You can expect 'REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION' which is a broad term and has many different meanings. For example, if you are in a wheelchair, they are required to offer you an access rampe and access to all areas where you need to perform your work.

What it does NOT mean is that they must hold your specific job for you nor that they are required to give you ALL concessions you think you should have.
