Do ssi disability lawyers purposely drag out cases to get a bigger % of retroactive payment?

Do ssi disability lawyers purposely drag out cases to get a bigger % of retroactive payment?

That could be a possibility, but even when there are no lawyers involved, the ssi policy is to drag it out until you are starving and then see if you are able to go work. In other words they try to starve you out to see if you are truly disabled or not. It's an effective policy, but they will deny that they are doing it but the facts speak for themselves

The majority of lawyers are blood sucking leeches.
Most judges were or are lawyers.
Most politicians were or are lawyers.
They have taken the simple premise of civil law and turned into a self perpetuating system that defies logic and reason, and has no basis in common sense.

It should not cost any citizen anything to go to court and to gain ones rights or the protection offered under the terms of law.
Law should be simple and easy to understand.

However, in any nations, such as the US or England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, etc. (Western nations or those nations heavily influenced by the West) where business equals corruption and a man or woman with a briefcase can steal more money than a man or woman with a gun, the law becomes corrupt.

The other problem is self perpetuation bureaucracies and governmental agencies where the government deals with persons whom they do not know or care about. People become nameless numbers, statistics and are devalued.

Good luck.

They only get a certain % either way.I think they do this to stagger their income like an annuity, some maturing every year.If you are truly disabled,as I am,you don't need a lawyer, fill out all your parer work neatly,BE THOROUGH,write everything, even the smallest details.Be honest, have all your paperwork in order for your interview, such as birth cert.,marriage lic.,divorce decree all you children's info.,etc.About 90%of the applications are denied the first time due to poor preparations on your part.
Once you're denied the first time you are flagged thereafter,then and only then,you need a lawyer.I was approved the 1st. time,it took a total of 9 1/2 weeks.I also got 18 mos.backpay.
The gov.loves and runs on paperwork, have lots of it!Be honest and thorourgh and you are in.ALSO IF A VET TAKE DD214.

if you check the laws concerning the % that lawyers can collect is set. you are correct about the time frame. lawyers collect more money because of the time frame not hogher % 25% is still 25% but 25% of the amout over time becomes more but the % stays the same 25% of 100 is 25 but 25% of 4000 is 1000 the amount changes but not the percentage mr doodles

No, the lawyers do not get a bigger percentage of any retroactive payments by dragging a case out. The Social Security Administration does however take its' time about granting disability and does generally turn down the first request. The SSA tries very hard to make certain tha all claims are legitimate before making payments.

No. The percentage is usually agreed upon up front...not changing over time. Therefore the quicker it's settled, the more money they make per client.

No they don't...Since the Govt is forever the mentality is drag it out and wait for you to die
