Does anyone know what happens to a person who gets a first time DWI/DUI in Missouri?

I'm wondering if they will suspend his license, will he go to jail or will he just pay a fine.

For Missouri DUI Information go to:

http://www.duiblock.com?action=laws

while anything can hapen, usually a first time offender will be given a diversion program where the charges will be dropped in a year or two if they follow through with the courts.

they will be required to do a victims program where they will learn the bad things that can happen driving drunk.

they will have to do an alcohol assement any any needed treatment

usually they will have to pay a fine and court costs, but that also depends on income.

and anything else the court wants, but there is usually no jail time for a first time offender

I would just like to point out that as dumb as it sounds just be thankful that they got a DWI, they could have killed someone or themselves. Please just take it as a serious, expensive lesson and don't ever do it again...you can't imagine the hell a family goes through when someone they love was killed by a drunk driver.
