Question about dui sentence for my dad!? |
My dad has a dui from 1988, one in 2003 that was reduced to reckless driving, and 2 in the last 2 months-one he blew a .122 and one he refused to blow. He still has to go to court for it, what do you think his sentence will be? We live in illinois. The are going to send him to jail before he kills someone. I'm sorry for the hardship this will put on your family, but he obviously has a problem that is endangering the lives of the innocent public. He is lucky he hasn't killed someone because then he would go to prison. I'm sorry to say this, as he is your father, and you probably love him dearly, but if he has been charged this many times with DUIs, he should probably stay in prison before he kills an innocent family. I know its difficult, but even if they take away his license, that does not prevent him from driving. It just means he cannot do it lawfully. Your father has a disease that is not curable, just treatable. The safest place for him would be in prison, locked away from intoxicating liquor and endangering the general public. Well, i am not familiar with Ill.law, but in MO if you get 3 dwi's in 5 years it is a felony and you go to prison. |
