Need a starting point with DUI, look below for details.? |
My brother received a DUI, in IL back in 1983. He paid all of his fines long ago when it happened. He then moved to Texas and lived there until 1995. Returning to IL in April that year he went thru the whole process of getting his license back. The alcohol evaluation, insurance and a judge had ruled in his favor to be given his license back. But when going to get it after all that in September they said his alcohol eval was too old, and need to do it again...basically START OVER. He was discouraged and did not start over, just gave up. Here we are 13 years later and he really needs it for his job, he's been given a promotion to supervisor. Where do we start without having to go thru alot of "red tape" and BS. He has all of his paper work and the judge's ruling. What to do please help. Thanks in advance. He needs to contact an attorney in Illinois. get an attorney and start over. should have done it back in 83 He needs to grow up and do the trail again, all it is a evaluation.. most states require a current (within 90 days eval, some its within 30 days) takes an hour of his time and isnt overly expensive, so why he hasnt done it makes no sense. Then he'd just have to refile for a hearing and get it back. |
