What are my chances of getting a DUI dropped if i join the military? |
the DUI is still pending and i won't be able to join in a year if the DUI goes through. Well you could talk to the presiding judge and ask him. Explain that you want to join the Military and explain that if the dui is on your record you will not be able to join for at least a year. Zero, but if you haven't done anything in the past and this is your first offense, you could apply for ARD. zero chance. furthermore, the recruiter must check for outstanding and pending charges and they will not take you with pending charges. If they did, when you failed to show at court the court would issue a warrant. When they complete the background check while you are in training they will discover the warrant and MPs will bust you. Then, in addition to the DUI, you get a bad discharge and possibly a military conviction for falsifying your enlistment. Sounds like a bad idea to me. None. The military will not accept you with pending criminal charges. You need to get them cleared up first. A DUI getting dropped. It will never happen. |
