Does an underage drinking fine show up on a criminal background check? |
Does an underage drinking fine show up on a criminal background check? It can. It depends on the type of background check the company performs. If they conduct a proper search, they will check the county and city courts for felonies and misdemeanors. Now, there are several states that do not consider underage drinking a misdemeanor, and instead treat it as an ordinance violation. If that is the case, there is a chance that it will not be reported. I would disclose the offense either way. As a background screening professional, even my clients with the most strict standards generally overlook one underage drinking offense. |
