How do I push the poor criminal element out of my neighborhood?

It seems that they are not only dropping the property value or my community, but they are set on destroying property, damaging landscape, and even shooting. I called the police and they seem powerless in their efforts. What can I do short of flooding them out or using fire?

sorrry dude but your screwed. gangs and crackdealers have taken over this and the neighbouring 2 apt blocks and already the hookers have started working the street. cops don't give a damn, they live in safe areas and keep it that way.we pretty much gave up, and just don't open the doors or windows, and definately don't go out after dark. prisoners in our homes while criminals own the street. it just aint right.

Write letters. Write one to your local alderman, one to the mayor, one to the local police station, and possibly others. The authorities need hard-evidence that your neighborhood is in trouble. Get your neighbors to do the same. If you write letters you will get more police patrols.
If you suspect a house in your neighborhood is a crack house, report it. Crack house busts are valuable because they usually have many criminals inside.

You can start a drive for the city to look at licensing property owners who rent out. This way the city can inspect homes and keep slum lords from renting...also it is a good way to track the owners and send them a bill for law enforcement services if the renters have too many problems that involve the police.
Once the owners realize it's not cost effective to rent to just anyone they wont.

geeky as it sounds start a local petition to keep gangs of the streets
in your area.

get local neighbours on your side.

document dates time, photos, videos of the criminals in your area and speak to local police station about setting up a neighbourhood watch.

write to your local MP, councillor etc... ask them to install cameras in

your area. im sure if the police keep coming it should deter the criminals. your only other option is to move.

Try organizing a community based organization, like crime watch, but also dealing with community beautification. I think mainly a crime watch would help, but if your local police won't help you go over their heads and let every one know that You're serious. It won't be easy, but there is strenght in numbers. I wish success for you.

I moved to a subdivision (a nice one to) last august and we got broken into 3 weeks ago. Come to find out, our little crimnal neighbor had something to do with it. The cops told us that when people on your street figure out that they had something to do with your house getting broke into then they will be pushed out. So I will say get with your neighbors and talk to them. Take a stand to get your neighborhood back. It's sad that this is what it's all coming to.

well, if you keep filing complaints with the police, then I would figure that eventually they would have to do something. That is, of course, only if they are doing something illegal. If they are, just keep complaining, and eventually something will get done (probably), if not, then either deal with it or leave.

Buy guns, several assault rifles and handguns. They get your buddies to do the same. Each of you should also buy body armor and batman masks- don't forget the cape, it will help you fly from roof top to roof top,

If the problem is that serious and the police refuse to do anything your next line of defense is to contact the media and tell your story.

I think your only option is to move. Let them have it before it becomes a slum and you have no property value. You are right, the cops won't do anything about it.

Ask them politely to move town.....check for understanding in your question....compose a completely civilised argument.....then introduce a virulent spore or virus which will eat their brains. Now Iam going to eat you.

Are the criminals paying off/protected by the cops? If so, then you have to go over their heads to talk to your alderman or other representative.

Buy the property around you and rent/sell it to people you think/know are not criminal.

Sell while the prices are still moderately good, and find a new place to call home.

Flooding? Arson? Guess you've decided if you can't beat em, join em!

Two words: Shotgun Justice.

Well, when this happens, it is time to move. You cannot fight it.

Are you talking about the people who park their cars on the lawn?

Two words... "Cattle prod."
