Should cameras be placed in courtrooms so that criminal trials can be televised?

No. Cameras turn trials into 3 ring circuses.

Not sure I understand... many trials do have news cameras ALLOWED, at the discretion of the the judge, at least for certain portions. They wind up on the news all the time, at least in the US. There always has been a right for the public to view trials, to insure that they are conducted according to law and fairly. If you are asking if there should be permanent cameras, solely for the purpose of making court activity accessible for "entertainment".. No. That undermines the function of the court.
As for cameras being installed by the court for reasons of security, and accurate record of exactly what is said or happens.. yes, I would definitely agree with that. Court reporters are there for recording testimony, etc. What happens on occasion is unpredictable, such as family members or others in the court, attacking the defendant, etc. This definitely would fall into the need to be certain of exactly what happened and by whom.
Except for certain cases (involving minors).. if someone has a valid reason to want to know what went on, they have the option to be present.

It can color the judgement of the judge and/or jury. They may either want to look good and impressive to the people, or they may fear they'll be beaten or killed if they let some guy off (even if its done lawfully or there is a real reasonable doubt).

They may convict even if the rule of law and their own sensibilities would say acquit; just to avoid dealing with a negative public.

It depends on the people involved in the trial if they want their trials to be viewed by the public. But I believe most would like to have their privacy. For pinhole video cameras check this out http://www.video-surveillance-guide.com/...

No. They can install security cameras for safety purposes but everyone in the courtroom has a right to privacy so unless every single person in that courtroom agrees then they're not allowed to play it on tv.

no..

would you like your trials to be televised..just saying

with consent. chyea
