Criminal Offenses Removed when Turning 18?

My friend was recently charged with
Possess Stolen Property Of Under $5000
(S.355(1)(b)C.C.)

He is 15, don't judge him, he isn't a bad guy, but he just bought the wrong item from the wrong person.

He was wondering if his criminal record will be deleted when he turns 18 since he is still a youth.

Will he be okay? It is his first offense with the law.

Unless he was charged as an adult. Yes it will be expunged. But his lawyer should be able to tell him the details.
