Criminal Injuries Compensation query? |
When I was a child I was abused over a great number of years by a family member who is now serving a jail sentence (I had the courage to tell my parents when I was 18) Due to this abuse my lawyer put in a claim for Criminal Injuries Compensation about 4 years ago and it's STILL going. I truly wish that this nightmare would just end, they're now asking for photographs of my scars which my lawyer arranged to be taken and have now been sent away. This is a very long time to wait, but it sounds as though they are giving it thorough attention and that you are now at the end of the road as far as your input is concerned. Just set it aside and wait to see what happens. Better to wait and receive a decent award than have them rush through the paperwork and turn your application down. As your lawyer says, it's only a matter of hanging on for a little while longer. so sorry about your childhood how do you sleep? well stick it out, hold that head up high YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG, NOR SHOULD YOU BE GUILTY HE'S THE BADDIE, THE EVIL PERVERT, HE SHOULD SUFFER NOT YOU. You answered this in your last sentence, if you want all this to stop and get on with your life tell your lawyer to end the compensation claim, it is very sad what you have been through but it`s entirely up to you what you want to do, in the end everyone wants money for whatever, no matter how long this claim goes on you will always have memories at the back of your mind, nothing will take those away unfortunately. Doesn't always take that long but can do in complex cases. I would chase them up about it, keep them on their toes and you might get things to move a little faster. I've sent you an email with some other info Sorry to hear what happened to you, but don't give up now you have come so far. hold on, can't see why it's taken 4 years if you give up now them 4 years will be a waste, i was stabbed in a fight took me 18 months to get my claim, try to get a second opinion, or even phone criminal injury board |
