Pardons/ exceptions to boyfriends with criminal background when dealing with G/F w/ DCF case plan?

My girlfriend and I met under very extenuating circumstance - rehab... We have been together quite some time and have significantly improved our lives. She's almost to the end of her DCF case and is close to regaining custody of her daughter. I am concerned that having a criminal background can hinder things (2 DUIs - misd. / 1 poss. of Marijuana-felony). I am wondering if there is anything I can do to support the case plan and prove I too (although I am not the natural father) can be supportive and work to help in their lives. Please offer some advice.

My best thought and advice on this would be to sit down and have a serious but friendly chat with her PO. Lay it all out on the line and ask what they would advise you to do.
