What can I do about my noisy neighbor? |
A little background....I live on the second floor, my upstairs neighbor has 3 totdors that run, jump, bounce balls , and ride their tricycles all day long, and well into the night at times. This noise from these active kids has particles from the ceiling come down onto my dinner table, I have light weight object dance their way onto the ffloor ! This daily construction sound is giving me a headache and interupting my daily living . As if 's that's not enough My upstairs neighbor smokes and the smell seeps through the bathroom vents. My son has breathing difficulties, and cannot handle this ...I have put up a curitn to trap the smell as much as I could...My now sleeps on the couch daily so he can breath. so here is my delema...I have written letters, made pleanty of office visits and phone calls to my landlord to stop a noise complaint. He has given me two options DEAL WITH IT or MOVE OUT! I cannot move due to my finacial hardship and I can not deal with the noise and pollution anymore.....WHAT CAN I DO?? Need help ASAP...thanks so much Have you contacted the police? The smoke issue is pretty serious, albeit the noise issue that would drive me nuts. As mentioned, have you spoken to the upstairs neighbors? Invite them to come downstairs and listen to the sound of a tricycle riding across your ceiling. Are these individually owned condos or an apartment complex? If it's a complex, have you asked them about switching units? Might be a stupid question but have you tried talking to your neighbour about it? Especially about the smoking issue, bring up that it's going to be damaging their children's lung's as well. Or mentioning the smoking to your landlord, is smoking allowed in your residence? Let the kids play and chill out. Did you know it was a smoking apartment before you moved in? Tell the kid's parents. deal with it or move out. Call Social Services or tell them to shut the f.uck up buy a paintball gun and go to town |
