Bike ride to work - storing my bike and mall property laws in Florida?

I live a few blocks from my job at the mall and it is senseless to DRIVE but sometimes too hot to walk (I live in Florida) to work. I ride my bike a lot and want to ride to work, but the mall is under construction and they've removed the bike racks until December. It seems silly that there are no places to store my bike! Lots of people ride bikes around here. I've called the mall and talked to guest services and they didn't know what to tell me. I could lock it up to a tree while I'm working, but I don't want it to get rained on. I also don't know the laws about chaining my bike to mall property. Anyone know what I can do? Any suggestions? Seems like the city should provide bike racks!

Unless the city owns the property, the city has no power to put anything at the mall. If your employer will not let you leave your bike inside, then get a tarp and chain it to the tree. As a general rule, the employer doesn't care how you get to work as long as you get there. You might also consider taking the bus.
