New job, i feel like i am ganna get fired?

so this is my first time working retail

it is my 2nd week and i feel like i am ganna get fired

today 2 girls at work asked me how much i made i said 8.80 an hour

then i found out that i could get fired for that **** lol i know nothing, i am used to working construction

what do i need to do to not get fired?

Stop telling people for one.

Wages should be not be discussed at work. It creates jealousy and a sense of entitlement.

If someone asks again politely tell them that you are not allowed to discuss it.

Well don't tell what you make per hour would be a good start..lol
I don't know if there going to fire you they will find stupid reasons, I knew I was going to get fired from my retail job like two weeks before it happened I had a supervisor run off at the mouth and at the time if I'd known now what I didn't know at that time I'd sued them for discrimination... Sadly enuff I 'd probably still be working there after all of the years but the manager was a total jerk..lol
GOOD LUCK!!! I'd been there exactly almost a year and was about to get health insurance and all the perks but eh it happens..
If i were you and I was concerned start looking for a different retail job if you can? in case!

A lot of companies tell you not to discuss your salaries but unless that is written in your handbook as a condition of hire, I don't think that that can be a cause of separation. If you are from the US, this is still a free country and freedom of speech is a guaranteed right. However, be aware that most states are "right to work" states which mean that an employer can fire an employee without cause or explanation. Of course, this also means that you are free to leave any job without explanation or cause as well. Not much help, but that's the way it is.

nothing, just don't do it again. You shouldn't be paranoid, unless it becomes an issue, and you can tell your boss that you did not know about the policy and will make sure not to do it again.

dont sweat it man. ive got this uncle that works at conns who got caught playing video games in the middle of his shift and he still didnt get fired. just lost his promotion but he didnt ge fired
