There are three types of law? |
there are three types of law...constitutional, civil, and criminal. Explain the differences between these three types of laws and what is their significance for law enforcement? I disagree with this way of breaking down the law, because I do not distinguish "Constitutional" law from civil or criminal law. But here goes. I agree that "constitutional law" really isn't a separate area of law, it's just the questions surrounding interpretation of the constitution and whether government actions violate the constitution. Criminal law involves the government, whether federal or state, prosecuting someone for an act which is considered to be an act against society, not just against the actual victim(s). Civil law involves two or more individuals or corporations seeking the court system's help to resolve a dispute. |
