Why does yahoo censor questions in violation of the constitutional ammendment of freedom of speech.? |
How does this differ from a totalitarian regime. Other than extreme obscenity which is often visible together with racist and vulgar remarks, why does yahoo censor anyone and what gives a few hidden people in that organization the right to practice this unamerican activity. " We may disagree with what you say, but we'll fight for your right to say it." An American saying. Gimme a break Yahoo.! I get three best answers and spend my valuable time trying to give positive advice on this site and you violate me twice. Who do you people think you are.!? To add to this comment. I answered a question about NZ. I lived there, my Mother is buried there and my kids went to school there for a while. I think as a seasoned journalist I am well qualified to comment about that Country and what happens, I get a violation from Yahoo's censorship bunch and my comment is removed. Nice people huh.? And Americans criticise other Countries for this very sort of thing.! Because the US Constitution does not protect you from private enterprise, it protects you from the government. Yahoo is a private entity. The Constitutional protection of free speech only applies to governments. Because the First Amendment only prohibits the GOVERNMENT from censoring you. trooper probably goes home and beats his wife, it is prevalent in that field! but i think it's because of the age of people on the site! they should have a section for adults! Freedom of speech only pertains to the government not being able to censor you. it is a private web site, not anything covered by the constitution. Y!A is a private organization, you have no rights here. You are allowed on here by their whim and they can revoke your rights here at any time they choose It might be your spray can, but it's Yahoo's wall. The conditions are very clearly set out by Yahoo. Why not read them and avoid violations? I am pretty sure they are the ones that own (not public) the forum. So they way they want it is the way it should be or they can boot you with no appeal. No free speech here buddy, this is corporate america. you have no right to free speech. The Constitution only guarentees that the government will not squash free speech. Private business and individuals can censor all theylike. Yahoo is a private organization, and as such, may limit your or my speech as they see fit. |
