鈥?How should you respond in this situation? What course of action do you take?

A resident that you know from a previous rotation walks into the nursing station. This resident is not on service for any patients on your unit. He approaches you and asks how Ms. Carter (a patient who is also a nurse, and you happen to know that they have dated) is doing. He then proceeds to pick up her medical record and start looking her lab up on the station computer.

Tell him to stop, put it down ,that information is confidential. If he won't comply, call security.
