Minors Belongings? |
Hi, Im 16 and my parent recently took my ps3 and computer that I have paid for she has locked them into a room and is using and potentialy damaging them what should I do I also live in florida she has a computer already but she has alot of virus due to lack of computer experiance and now my computer is having the same problem help appreciated They took them away cause I saw my 1 year old nephew that she cant see cause she drinks to much If you have receipts, then you are entitled to your property, but not under their roof. Tell them you are going to stay with a friend and you want your stuff back. I'm guessing "she" is your mom? Living at home, until you're an adult, you have to go by their rules. Your parents are just trying to teach you a lesson and also help you learn to appreciate/respect things! I'd let it calm down in a couple of days or so and then go back and try apologizing. Try negotiating in a mature way with them, bring up a suggestion since it's things that you paid for. Just remember, their house their rules ;) When you're 18 move out on your own and buy new ones. Other than that, you may have paid for the computer, but your parents have paid to feed, clothe and shelter you for the past 16 years and I'm sure they probably took away your stuff for a reason, you just didn't mention that. I know it sucks, but since you're living in their house, you've pretty much got to live by their rules. you are a minor. you are in your parents house, they pay the bills. they make the rules. How do you know that your comp is having the same problem? id go off on them |
