Emancipation !? PLEASE HELP! |
Okay so I'm 15 years of age going to be 16 in October. I have a daughter. I'm still in school (computer school) without a job. Please don't be so quick to judge me! I take care of my daughter like shes suppose to be. I was wondering how could i get emancipated and who do i contact. I'm in Michigan. I'm mature! When I'm 16 can't i just move out and they cant say nothing? In order to move out at 16 without your parents' permission (you can move out whenever as long as your parents agree), you need the court to agree to emancipation. This requires showing that you are taking care of yourself financially and that it would be in your best interests to be emancipated. See the site below for the requirements and how to go about doing it. |
