Can i do anything if i my ex sends nude pictures of me without my permission?

because i broke up with him and i no longer want anything to do with him, he wants to post my nude picture as a bulletin on myspace, email to everyone he knows and message it to those he doesnt have as a friend on myspace. i told him not to many times, i even told him not to do anything with the picture when i sent it to him. he would not delete the picture! even when i tried deleting it, he has it stored in many differnet places in his computer. what should i do? is there anything i can do to stop him?

What an *** he is, but this is why you don't do that kind of stuff. I'm sorry you are going through that.

The more you tell him not to, the more likely he will out of spite - especially if you broke up with him. If he does do it, I believe you could get him for defamation of character on the grounds that the pictures were taken in good faith that he would never distribute them.
Please don't ever send pictures of yourself or allow anyone to take pictures of you that you won't regret later. It's just too easy for it to ruin your life.

Try to make some sort of peace with him if you can, because fighting about will only escalate the situation. Good luck to you!

DO NOT LIE TO THE POLICE ABOUT YOUR AGE IN THESE PHOTOS AS SOMEONE SUGGESTED TO DO. IF YOU GET CAUGHT, YOU WILL GO TO JAIL AND NOT PASS GO.

Never ever ever ever lie to the police if they are conducting an investigation. You can be charge with interfering with a police investigation. In this case you will probably serve more time/probation then your ex.

Now, I was skimming through the copyright laws on photographs, and what I gathered is that IF you were the original owner of the photo (ie. Took the photo yourself) then the photo belongs to you. If he took the photo it is his.

erase this persons computer totally. reinstall his operating system completely. and email the website and tell them to remove the content. If you are under 18 have the website shut down by emailing the host provider and telling them there is child pornography on that website. when its resolved don't have anything to do with this person at all.

You might sue him for defamation of character, if you can prove posting the images damages your reputation in some material way.

You could get a court order demanding that he stop.

Either way it's probably more expensive than it's worth unless it's really THAT bad.

How old are you? Were you dating him at all when you were 17? If so, say you were under the age of 18 when the pictures were taken, and that he could be charged with child pornography.

If you gave him the pictures with permission, you have no legal grounds to stop him from doing as he pleases with them. Welcome to the 21st century, honey.

You can contact a lawyer in your state. The lawyer may send him a note promising legal action if he posts or distributes images of you without your consent.

He has got the permission already with you gave that pictures to him. And unfortunately you cannot do anything even officially welcome the 21 th century

I don't think myspace allows nude pics. Notify the myspace guys and let them know his ID. You can at least get him suspended.

You have just hit upon one of the reasons for THINKING before you do something...not after.

You sent it out, its out there now.

I think if you were a minor when it was taken (under 18) he can be charged for Child Pornography.

No you cant unfortunately

millions of people make bad decisions daily
i wouldnt send out too many more pics ;)

Some of the answers here are not quite right. You have not given him permission to use the picture in any way he chooses (and have not signed a 'model release form') nor have you received any payment for the picture (which might give him some rights of use). I also get the impression he didnt take it, so he has no rights at all in this - no more than if I bought a magazine, copied a picture and tried to use it - illegal. (Although the question in my mind is "how did the picture come into existence?"). I would simple send him a letter saying that 1) because of the cessation of the relationship you would like him to remove the picture (just a matter of principle - he isn't going to do it) and 2) any inappropriate use or publication of the picture will result in legal action.
And as someone else has said, if you contact myspace or facebook or whoever they will probably suspend him.
And...why worry? If he did it everyone except the pervs will think he is a ********* . You are not the first girl to do something a bit risky. People may be surprised briefly but that's all - the world has moved on. You will come out wining.
