Will the DMV be able to file my ticket if the Court Clerk spelled my name wrong? |
I got a speeding ticket and the officer wrote my name on it correctly, but when the clerk in the court filed it into their computer database, she typed my name wrong. Will the DMV be able to add the ticket onto my driving record? Yes. Even if they didn't write down your name at all, your SSN & license number is what is important. There can be 10,000 people out there with the same name as you, but you're the only one with that SSN & license number. Yes it will go on your record. The incident is tied to you as an individual and has nothing to do with how your name is spelled. It will simply be corrected or not but it is not grounds for dismissal. |
