Is the Government watching me?

First off dont give me any of that paranoia **** this is a legitament question.

is the goverment monitoring me on my computer and cell phone at all time as well as everyone else?

i saw a video of a man opening up his car radio and taking out a transponder for recieveing soundwaves so they can here what your saying that was in there when he bought it.

he bought another one and the same thing was there.

is it possible that these things are in my computer, cellphone, speakers, ect??

It is a legitimate question. People who live in the United states are so complacent.
They forget that the holocaust victims were just like us. Germany had a constitution when Hitler was in power before the terror scare and the people never thought there rights could be taken away either.
They do watch some of us, that is a fact. Bill Clinton had a HUGE intrusive wiretapping programs too, funny how the republicans were critical of his by they passed the same plans when it was their guy. Make no mistake that they watch us. I don't know about the radio thing - do you have a link?

The government can monitor your usage, it is actually legal now! And this is what is important to understand and fight back on. (its unconstitutional but legal - oxymoron I know)

You are not paranoid, you are smart. It people like you and me that watch for everyones rights so the rest of the fools can stay free. I write my congressman and Senators once a week on issues that concern us all, I self educate myself on the issues and stay involved in educating people so you do not have too.

How dare anyone here say this person is paranoid. The United States certainly is not immune to corruption just because you want to believe its not. It was people like the answerers here that made the revolutionary war last so long - they refused to participate.
Sorry for the rant I just work so hard and I get sick of people calling people names that are being good Americans.

Laughing... "nothing illegal happening here so what do I care?"

Poor fool. Don't you know that's not liberty?

"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear."

That's what they used to say in East Berlin.

"The contention that if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear presupposes that those with access to information will not abuse it, whether on behalf of themselves for (say) curiosity or money, or on behalf of the state.

Unfortunately there is plenty of precedent to suggest otherwise, ranging from individual abuses to mass abuse, such as by the Stasi.

That is why even those who think they have nothing to hide may in fact have something to fear."

So keep laughing, Laughing. Enjoy your tyranny.

To answer the question... no, they're probably NOT watching you, but they could if they wanted to, because you gave up your Bill of Rights. Remember that thing? You should have put up more of a fight to keep it, but now it's gone, so good luck.

However, if you ever speak out against the administration, or in defense of the Constitution, then you've probably set off a few flags... and might have even made it onto a list.

Ok, how about a link?

Yes, they are watching you. They questioned me just this morning about you in fact. I told them everything. Expect them at your door soon. Come on. The government can watch and listen to me all they like. They'll just be bored. Nothing fascinating happening here, nothing illegal happening here so what do I care?

Well, if they are, it is not legal.
My guess is no.
The Bush administration is so lost, I don't think they can handle monitoring 300 million people.
But, I'd have to say you are the most vulnerable to government spying on the computer (particularly one with an internet connection)

no, I seriously doubt it. the gov. has better things to do with their time than run surveilance an an ordinary "Joe Blow", however if you're involved in any type of criminal activities they might be watching.

You question DEFINES paranoia. It is NOT POSSIBLE for ANYONE to monitor EVERYONE at all times. That would require EVERYONE to spend ALL there time doing the monitoring.

yes they are tracking your every move and to be sure we will soon put metal detecters around peoples property and hook up bombs in new born babys for when they grow up they can't turn bad with out dieing and we the goverment did not type this

You better believe it.

Yea they are my sister was on a chatline once and she said something about knowing who did a bomb scare at her school and the FBI called the house. No kidding...

They have the technology, yes. This means it is possible, but it is not probable. Why on earth would they be interested in anything you have to say? If you're not a politician or influential person they would be spending a lot of time and money simply to learn that you like the NY Mets and your favorite color is green.
Next you have a problem with the fact that it would be an unlawful surveillance if you did not obtain a warrant before monitoring domestic communications. They would not be able to use any of the information they obtained.
Then you have a problem with resources. Collecting data is easy. You could simply record it, but that won't do you any good unless you know what is being said in the communications. For this you would need someone to review the communications. Do you have any idea what manpower would be required to review the daily electronic communications of every person in the country? Let's assume that one well-trained agent could review the communications of 100 people each day. You would need approximately 30 million agents to accomplish this task. This would be about 4 times the number of law enforcement officers in the entire United States. It would require about 16 trillion dollars per year just to pay their salary.
Next you have a logic problem here. How do you hire this many people to monitor communications illegally and not have anyone question such a huge budget expense and have every single person out of that huge staff keep the whole thing a secret? It simply defies logic and common sense.
Does the government unlawfully monitor communications? Probably, but with limited resources they must be very selective about whom they monitor and it would only be worth it to monitor someone they feel has a great likelihood of revealing something worth hearing.
