Why all the wrong answers about internet in prison?

I just got off of the phone with my attorney and I have been granted a computer, DSL (not broadband :( so sad), and even a gaming pad all at their expense, which is a nice gesture. My attorney was able to grease the wheels a bit so I am going to be one of the first "Computer Skills" instructors which allows me to have a computer in my room! I even get to choose some students even if they were former associates.

So my question is why did people get all nasty when I asked about it? I am going to pay my debt to society and even teach a few bad guys some legitimate skills. Please let the one who has not sinned to judge me first. Again I wasn't involved in crimes of violence (unless you were late paying...lol), but victimless crimes like gambling, drugs, prostitution, etc. I am a libertarian so these things just aren't crimes to me.

PS If anyone is going to Federal hit me up on aim at casamr12 and Ill have my attorney get you a transfer so you can take my class!

I'm glad that you'll be able to help rehabilitate yourself and others in prison, instead of just sucking up tax bucks.

It's good to see the system working as it should. Hopefully they at least give you broadband after a while though. Cheap DSL. That's nonsense.

Can you please just kill yourself in prison since you don't believe your crimes are crimes. You won't rehabilitate and you are a parasite of my tax dollars. Just hang yourself, or get a shank and slit your wrists. Thanks in advance,
The American Taxpayer.

enjoy your new roomie, bubba !

i am also from the falls. would you mind removing that part of your name.
i bet you are related to denny.

Either you are mistaken or you are lying. Federal statute 5265.11 prohibits you from having access to an internet connection while in any Federal Correctional Facility. The reason for it is because the prison is required to monitor and approve all communications to and from inmates. They would be unable to do so if you have an internet connection. You are prohibited from having an internet connection or a cellphone. No exceptions.
The Ohio Department of Corrections has the same statute for state prisons.
The only exception would be in cases where you are housed in a halfway house or a privately operated drug rehabilitation in-patient program. This is also the only way you would have a "room", since state and Federal prisons don't have rooms, they have cells and dormitories.
