What is the average punishment for stealing 42000$ worth in computer parts? |
My boss stole 42000$ worth of computers. My company is pressing criminal charges. He'll be charged with theft. Not sure about Grand larceny I think that depends on state. Whether or not he gets prison would depend on how deliberate or brazen the theft was and prior record and current attitude. I'm not an attorney, but I have worked long ago with officers. Anything stolen or embezzled with a value of more than $400.01 is considered a felony. So, minimumly it could give him 2 years + in prison. (Judges use a guide that gives them a range for the length of a prison sentence that could be applicable) Unless, he pays for a pricey attorney and works out a deal. Also depends on if he has a prior criminal history, etc. Yeah, that's grand theft allright, although the specific distinctions may be blurred from state to state. |
