I know some people that are scamming people on the Internet, is this legal?

These two people are married. Yet go on dating websites, and ICQ and act like their single. They talk to people and make them think that their in a relationship (over the phone and computer) And make them send money. They lie and make up fake stories, and make me and my lil bro leave the room all the time, and make us go up stairs when its only 9:00pm

Yes, this is illegal. Anytime money is requested or received without a tangible product being received for the money requested, it is fraudulent. You are sensitive to the situation you are in regardless of the person or persons involved. I question that you are children, because your computer skills are too good, except for the last line.

It sounds like these scammers are your parents. It is the wording of your question that suggests this. Only parents or caregivers would "make" you and your brother go upstairs early. They may or may not be doing something illegal. It is hard to say because many people lie on the internet or use made up identities for online chatting. You could report them and something may be done, but this could also result in you and your brother ending up in some kind of foster care.

wow I would think that is totally illegal. I would hate for my parents to do that, how embarassing. You should anonymously report it, if they arent treating you the way they should be. Its mean.. Good Luck!!!

it's called fraud, and yes it's illegal.

Yes, that's illegal. Deceiving people in order to make them send you money is fraud.

it is not legal . but it all depends on what story they are telling the people
