There are no pre-defined "types" of licenses. In theory, the number of different licenses available is virtually limitless, since each license can be uniquely tailored to the particular transaction. In any case, there's no practical benefit in trying to categorize types of licenses.

For the most part, licenses should be drafted based on the specific facts of each case. That's why the reliance on boilerplate or pre-drafted licenses is often to the licensor's own detriment.
