Is there a legal age limit for children buying a computer and using it unsupervised?

Or is it the homeowner of the house its used in, who is responsible for content viewed

No but most kids don't have that kind of money.

Parents or guardians are responsible for their children.

Nope

Well they'd need access to a credit card or a tone of cash but I think that if they could get that they could.

... the govt wants to make it so there is no age limit to having ur computer usage supervised so i wouldnt worry about it ....

How did the children get the money to buy the computer? Very few kids can get a job, & save the money, much before 16!

not unless it comes with a pack of cigs.and a sixpack of beer.but they can't get online without a credit card so no problem

no but as a parent you should be supervising them

There is no legal age limit, but parents/guardians have a responsibility to supervise their children (this includes internet, TV, movies, etc.). It's called parenting, and it is lacking tremendously in this country today!!

How old is the kid? Where are the parents they should be supervising the kids.

I'm not sure if there is legal age for children who buy a computer. But I would like to think for a child to spend that much money they certainly be under a parents supervision. As far as what the child views or connects to on that computer, they definitely need parental supervision. A responsible parent can put blockers or create passwords to control what the child sees.
I have a 5 year old granddaughter who is already doing things on a computer, mostly through cartoon orientated teaching programs.

Why must you depend on the law to protect your kids? Use every means possible to protect them.

No, not in the US. The parents are responsible for what their children do.
