I think I have a neighbor who hacks into my computer. What ever shall I do? |
This is really not a joke any advice. I really believe in personal privacy If a neighbor is doing it you must have a wireless network. Report it. Can you say paranoia? What ya smokin'? Setup a personal password on your router. WOW i would have to say a fire wall or get a compy tech in there to help ya with it! Burn his/her letter box down.... Put your neighbor on racist, gay porn, and evangelical mailing lists using your computer. First, you could try installing a firewall and setting the security very high. If that doesn't work...call the police!!! Your privacy is important (especially your finances, passwords, etc.). This is a federal offense! shoot his computer.. in my opinion, u make sure isnt ur neighbor hacks into ur computer, after take an action to stop n protect ur privacy lah.... like report to police... Passwords, if you are using Windows 2000 or XP he (she) cannot log on without your password. If you are on a wireless network then switch to a wired network. Get a Firewall I recommend Zone Alarm. You can get a free version, the Pro version watches for spy ware, it tracks cookies, and evil programs that someone might have placed on your machine. When a program first runs Zone Alarm asks if you want it to run. Say yes to those programs you are sure of and block those you are not short of. You can set it to always allows the programs you want to run to operate. Password protect your internet connection. delete all of your cookies/temp files/history. turn your computer off when not using it, or disconnect it from the internet. |
