Can i get the results of my friends court date over the computer?

It depends on whether the court system in your city/county/state has an online database.

A lot of times you can just go to the court's website, i.e. Los Angeles Superior Court, and then click under civil, criminal, traffic, family, etc. and see if they have an option to obtain case information online. Then you can type in their name or case number and find out what happened, what's planned for the future, and the case history.

I did some research once on someone who had previously been in prison and was able to go under a state's Department of Corrections website and look him up, as well as everything that had happened in that case.

If the court in your city/state/county is not as sophisticated, you'll probably just have to go down to the court and review the file yourself. *Most* court files are entirely public record, though you may have to provide ID or sign in to obtain and review a file.
