Who do i talk to in regards to my personel things ie car, tv, computer, etc before i pass on. Do i make a wil |
I have no family, They moved or passed on. Im single, living with a roommate. We are both over 50. I DO NOT WANT THE STATE TO GET ANYTHING. Parelagal for advice? Im open for suggestions. If you die Intestate (without a will) you have no say so in who gets your property. The law would divide the property by intestate succession which means wife, kids, parents, brothers and sisters etc. If you have none of these most likely than not the state would get it. The law does not provide for friends or roommates. You do need a will. But the good news is you don't need to pay a lawyer to do it for you. There are programs out there like will maker that let you do it yourself. It is very easy. All you need to do is fill it out, have it signed bu 2 witnesses infront of a notary and you are done. Make sure the witnesses are not people who are going to receive anything in your will as they do not make good witnesses, good luck to you make a will. give everything to someone in your life who you trust, and instruct them to sell it all or keep it or donate it or what have you. Melody is correct. |
