If the new govt bill to allow bailiffs to enter houses and seize goods goes ahead? |
who will be responsible for safeguarding any personal details contained on a seized computer, or other device? This bill is going through the UK goverment at this moment. It would allow a Bailiff with out a warrent to break in to seize goods to the value of any outstanding debt or credit card bill. You need to post more information about this bill. Where are you located? what type of law is this? is it a local law? will the law allow bailiffs to enter with a warrant or probable cause or not? if it requires a warrant or probable cause to seize items then the law is codifying what the cases have held for decades. Bailiffs only call after a Court Order has been ignored or not satisfied. Any vulnerable people should not ignore previous contacts by the creditor. |
