Is it a HIPPA violation?

As a physician, is it a HIPPA violation to log onto the computer at the hospital and just look at medical records without printing, divulging or sharing information?

Yes

Yes.

If you have no need to know the information, you should not be looking at the medical records.

If you are the treating physician for that particular issue, you are to look only at the effects of and from that issue.
You have no right to the complete medical file.

You already violated the letter and spirit of the law.

I believe you know better.

GOD bless.
