Is it illegal to sell Boxing fights? |
someone i know has a collection of boxing fights on dvd. He asked some people online if they were interested in buying and they offered him money for the fights. Now is this illegal? Can he get caught in any way? He is afraid he may end up sending them to an undercover agent or something Yes it is Illegal to sell boxing fights unless he recorded them himself live.. But I've never heard of anyone getting caught or anyone going after someone that sold boxing either. You can readily find fights even on Ebay that are obvious bootlegs. If I were your friend, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Yes, it is illegal. My favorite boxing/street fights are from the internet. Look at the following sites. its not illegal as long as he paid for them like if he filmed the fights himself and then sold them then thats illegal thats bootlegging but either way chances are he wont get caught but still thats the law. while it is illegal, it's the copyright holder's lawyers that will come after you for this. |
