I think you could send half of what you're paying, even less, as long as you're making regular monthly payments and they can do nothing but rattle your cage for more. If it were me, I'd tell them to knock it off or they'll get $20 a month. Why don't you get a job with benefits? Report Abuse I would suggest you look into a bankruptcy attorney. It would be in your best interest to be out from in under the debt completely. Usually your attorney will be able to guide you on your rights and what is the best thing for you to do. Nobody should have to be under a load of medical debt to the point that it is hurting their daily living. So long as you are making an effort to pay they can do nothing. I would suggest talking with an attorney, they can probably write a letter legally stating your rights. Also some costs may be reduced depending on your income level. Most hospitals and clinics will have you pay the full cost, although it may not be your obligation. can't get blood out of a stone. pay what the judge feels is fair bassed on your income. take your chances and bring it into court. it will be mediated and they and you will settle. They are bluffing and tell them if they do not give you a reduced pay off rate you will start sending $5.00 a month |
