Vehicle Repossession?

I had a car repossed 2 years ago. I have recieved letters from debt collectors, they amount they say I owe after they sold it was 7000.00. I cant come up with that kind of money. Today I recieved a letter from an Attorney in the practice of debt collection, the letter said my account has been referred to there firm for collection. My question is how far can they take this ?? I live in North Carolina and I do know the only way wage granishment is legal is for back taxes, and child support. I am a stay at home mom and my husband works, and we just dont have enough extra income to pay theh 7000.

In my state they will take you to court before garnishment of wages. My suggestion is to go to court, most judges will look at your income and debt and set a payment that you can afford. Whereas the car company will want double payments. Don't them badger you, or scare you. Stay firm, lately collection agencies make stuff up all time! Offer to work with this company, or tell them to take you to court if they won't accept small payments.

You should have paid the bill.......exactly as you agreed to do when you bought the damn thing. Maybe you should have bought something cheaper and more within your budget.

WHY are you on here acting like a 'victim'?

You owe them.... give them some payments, or give them the car. What kind of example are you setting for your kids?
