Bogus calls meant for previous phone # holder?

What can I do to stop this?

I have a newer ph# and all these collection agencies are after the guy who used to have this number. I have informed them that my name is not "Bobby". They acknowlege that the number is no longer valid. However, They actively refuse to remove my nimber from the call list.

Notes:

1 - www.donotcall.gov does not apply to collection agencies.

2 - The cell company can only sell me something for $5 extra a month to limit who can call my number.

3 - No matter how offensive the calling party is, there is no action that the company (AT&T) or anyone else can take against them.

When they call, ask for their supervisor, then let em know the facts, and that you will be contacting the FCC & a few other agencies if they call again... find out the name of the supervisor's supervisor and keep going up the chain.

Change your number, if possible, request the oldest possible one that hasn't been used in a while. Or let the calls burn out themselves, they won't call forever.
That's about it for options. good luck
