Is it a crime to use company's funds? What kind of crime is it? |
I am a sales agent. It came to a point that I used my collections for my personal use. It started when I asked from my boss to provide a motorcycle for mobility. He did not provide, so I thought to use company's money to buy the motorcycle without my boss's knowledge. Moreover, our accounting system is not fully strict. I admitted my secret to my boss and I'm also planning to pay it.But my boss is also planning to charge me moral damages plus file a case against me.What shall I do? How can I convince my boss that I will pay it? It's not just a question of whether you can repay it or not. You've committed something that not only can your boss sue and fire you for, but you've also committed embezzlement, which depending on your state, is most likely a felony. It is embezzlement and it is totally illegal. You need to pay it, plus damages now. If you pay it now, maybe he won't file charges. Dude you have really messed up. What you have done is called embezzlement and it is a felony punishable by fine and or imprisonment. The severity of the punishment depends on the amount. In your case your up a creek without a paddle. I suggest you get a Lawyer asap. Good luck! Your going to need it. You don't have to convince him. He can charge you criminally, probably with a felony: fraud, theft whatever. He'll be able to get restitution in the criminal case. He can also sue you civilly and get damages and attorney fees & costs. |
