Budget rent a car---HUGE issue with a parking ticket I got while I had a there rental? |
I got a parking ticket while in NYC with one of there cars. I told the rep when I returned it that I had and she said that they would pay it, and then bill me. I moved directly after this occurence to a new city. I have tried relentlessly to get ahold of someone in their tickets department and no on has contacted me. I am so irritated it has been just about 10 MONTHS that i have been leaving messages with this company and no one has goten back to me. contact the better business bureau online and file a complaint. give the exact address of the actual Budget rental office you used. State how many times you have contacted them, your unpaid ticket, and possible consequences to you if it remains unpaid. BBB is very good at follow up and will inform you of their progress....Hope you get this resolved If you rented the car with a credit card, I think that they charge the ticket to the credit card, rather than billing you. What the clerk says means nothing. You need to check the actual rental agreement you signed. It is a contact and most likely it says something like you're responsible. If you're losing sleep, you can pursue this with NYC, give them the ticket number and ask if it's unpaid. The process might take time... I got a parking ticket on a rental in LA twelve years ago, I still haven't heard anything. |
