Do those child support collection companies really help?

Do those child support collection companies really help?

I have no direct knowledge but I hear mixed reviews. Some say they help and some just rack up fees.
The best way to find out how to collect is probably to ask your local family court!
Good luck!

I hear yes.

If its ordered by court, they should be collecting. If the person doesn't pay, they garnishee their wages.

I don't think I have ever heard of an agency doing it.

Are you trying to collect child support?

Only child support individuals I would trust would be law enforcement officials and attorneys. Sounds like a company who wants a fee.

yea they do my mom had to use one on my dead beat dad and it made him pay.

Yes, my ex is still paying for my son. Believe me, they will get him.

If you're on about the CSA, then NO! I'm a single mum & they jusy f*+ked it all up.

Get the federal / state government involved. If it is court ordered child support, they will hold their income tax refund until every red penny is collected!

Yes and no.

Yes because they help you get the money for your child and make sure the guy pays. Which he should. Even a woman should pay if the child is living with the father. That money is suppose to be for taking care of your child.

No because they take some of that money for themselves.

Some of them collect social security numbers, names addresses, ask alot of information and do nothing to help; they get back and tell you that they contacted the government agency and that "they are doing everything they are able to".

Watch for the ones who charge a fee.

Oh, please do not bring this up until after the Holidays.

In some States, if the payor is claiming that they paid and the money did not get to you--please take that with a grain of salt--there are some States that are not in compliance with the requirements. Contact the Federal Regional Office--they may not be painting their nails that day.

Every county in the U.S. has officials charged with performing that duty at no charge. Furthermore, since that is generally all they do, they get pretty good at it. When the taxpayers would make the best available for free, I don't know why someone would pay an agency that doesn't have the experience, knowledge and resources of the child support enforcement officer.
