Has anyone used Support Kids for collection of child support?

I had given up on child support. I did all the legal stuff to get a court order and a garnishment order to no avail. I have only received 2 full payments and 1 half payment in the last 9 years. I am owed 15,066.00. It should be more, however, for my own sanity I left it at that approx. 8 years ago. I was more than willing to give up a percentage to Support Kids to retrieve anything, if not just put him in jail. I feel like my child is being punished financially, why should'nt he! I just found out there was a tax intercept of $50 that the state took for whatever and that they were sending out a garnishment order. I was actually sent a card to access the potential payments. There have yet to be any payments and I doubt there ever will be. Can anyone offer some advice? Keep in mind that I am in New Orleans and have lost all contact with the noncustodial parent. I couldn't tell you much before the storm and I can't tell you anything after. The state seems to know where he is.

You can get to Fed Law by doing a search on US Code. You should be able to get LA code thru the states web site.

It does not hurt to be armed with a little knowledge about any laws he may be violating before talking to law enforcement.

I think there is Fed Code covering this now. I remember hearing of a guy being arrested in Florida several years ago for an amount in excess of $20000.00. It may have been US Marshals, I don't recall.

You should have his ssn. A PI can do a credit check and might find him quick. My daughter used to work for a cop that did PI work on the side. he had access to DMV (at least in CA) and used the credit check as the quickest way.
Maybe from there you can find his employer, see if that state will garnish his wages etc.

Good Luck

let state handle it.

get a lawyer, if you have some money
