What can you do to a collection agency that calls your work?

This is the state of Illinois

Tell them you should not be called at your place of employment and request they stop. then...Document, document, document. If it persists, you have legal grounds in small claims to sue for harrassment!

Depends in which state you live.

Ask your boss to tell them not to bother you at work again! They have to stop if asked by the employer.

Tell them not to call you at work...if they continue to harass you speak to your local or state better business bureau

TALK TO YOUR BOSS, AND TELL HIM THAT YOU CAN ONLY EXCEPT EMERGENCY CALLS.

Sue their azzes for harassment at your workplace..Good Luck

HANG UP.

Pay the bill, they'll stop calling.

yea, you have to tell them to stop verbally or certified mail.

You can tell them to stop calling your house as well.

Welcome to the Bush Economy, making life harder for those who corporations dont like.

Next time they call you at work tell them you are not allowed to accept personal calls at work (yes it is a personal call for you maybe not for them). When you do so make sure you write down the date, time and whom you told. Then write them a letter mail it certified telling them that they cannot call you at work. That is all it should take to stop the problem, if it doesn't contact a lawyer, they are now harassing you at your place of work and cause you to lose your job.

Tell them if you get personal calls at work you will get fired and then you will never be able to pay them back.

If you tell them verbally not to call you at work, they must stop for at least 10 days. During that time, you must send them written notice requesting that they not call you at work. If they continue to harrass you at work, call the State's Attorney and report them.

The best way to get them off your back is to make a payment plan with them. Make sure you get the names of the people you talk to.
